James and Rob founded TRGTC with a shared vision of utilising education to bring the world closer together. By drawing on their extensive experience in teaching and managing commercial and educational operations in Asia and South Africa they set out to build a company that would be a source of immense pride for its employees.

From humble beginnings the company has grown rapidly and is now a worldwide leader in the provision of teacher management services. James Thomson | Chief Executive Officer

James is responsbile for guiding and delivering to TRGTC ‘s overall strategy.  He is a entrepreneur with extensive experience in leading businesses within the education and recruitment industries and is passionate about the difference that TRGTC can make in the lives of it’s team, their clients and their students.

When James isn’t having fun working with the team at TRGTC he loves spending time with his family and has a passion for surfing, lifesaving, rugby, music and reading.

Rob Schulenburg | Chief Operating Officer

Rob's responsibilities as Chief Operating Officer at TRGTC include overseeing product, technology and program management and assisting online educational businesses of all sizes around the world, ultimately improving their bottom line by crafting creative management solutions for their business needs.

Rob has spent over a decade in executive management within the online education space in Asia.  As a Vice - President in iTutorGroup, he oversaw many projects, including the design and implementation of global management and recruiting systems to extend to over 60 countries worldwide.

Offline, Rob is both an avid sports enthusiast and outdoorsman, and you will often find him on Safari (with a camera) or armed with a fishing rod.

Christopher Miller | Online Service Manager

Christopher joined The Really Great Teacher Company after spending 10 years living and working in Asia. A passionate teacher, Chris has dedicated his life to the development of others. Joining TRGTC was an easy decision for Chris, as honouring the impact of education is a value that truly resonates with him.

Chris is an avid mountain biker and when he is not spending time with his gorgeous wife and precious young daughter, he can be found on his bike, enjoying the breath-taking trails that Cape Town has to offer.

Ally Wates | People Support Manager

Ally has been involved in education for over a decade. Her passion for the field and the impact for positive change it has was born from the experience she gained working in the skills development and training sector. After spending time in Asia working within business development for an education company, Ally identified that it was the people side of business that resonated most profoundly with her.

As a company that puts people at its core, TRGTC was a natural match for her. When Ally is not spending time with the team, she can be found enjoying the live arts or enjoying the simple pleasure of spending time with her family.

Danie Struwig | Business Development Manager

Danie is passionate about TRGTC’s  solutions and how they can improve productivity, quality, team morale, scalability, brand value, and ultimately increase profits and drive down costs for our clients.

He uses his history of theatre and film, writing, education, business, and cross-cultural interaction to deliver unique client centric solutions to the market. Danie sees the work that he does with his clients as a mixture of leading, following, learning and sharing the lessons learnt along the way.

He finds TRGTC is a great fit for him due to its proactive approach to cultivating amazing company culture.
